Guidelines for Visits with Short-term Rehabilitation Patients
The health and safety of our patients, residents and staff is our highest priority.
If the patient was FULLY VACCINATED prior to hospitalization (at least 14 days after 2nd vaccine), and a family member is also FULLY VACCINATED, the patient does NOT require quarantine. Fully Vaccinated visitors may visit the patient in their room. If weather permits, visitors may also escort the patient outside to our Courtyard for a visit.
Visitors will be screened upon entering the building and must provide their last vaccine date, if vaccinated.
Visitors must agree to wear a nametag that includes the room number they will visit. Visitors will go directly to the patient’s room, and may not visit other residents or visit in common areas. If the patient is in a common area upon arrival, they must be brought back to their room, or outside to the Courtyard for the visit.
A maximum of 2 visitors may visit at the same time. If you have a large family, please coordinate your visits among yourselves so we don’t have to turn people away.
Facemasks must be properly worn by visitors AT ALL TIMES during the indoor visit. The patient must also wear a mask if tolerated.
Close contact, including touch, may be allowed if desired by both the patient and the visitor, using hand sanitizer prior to and following contact.
Visitors may break physical distancing requirements if fully vaccinated – you do not need to maintain 6-foot social distancing. We ask that non-vaccinated visitors maintain distancing.
You may bring a snack to for your loved one, but please – VISITORS MAY NOT EAT during the visit since all parties must wear masks.
If a visitor learns after the visit that he/she was exposed to COVID-19 prior to the visit, or if the visitor develops any signs and symptoms concerning for COVID-19 within the 48 hours following the visit, they must notify the facility.
Guidelines for non-vaccinated patients
If the patient is NOT vaccinated, or reached their 14-day fully vaccinated date WHILE IN the hospital, they must be quarantined upon admission to Elizabeth Seton Residence and may have visitors starting “Day 7” after a negative COVID test result is received.
At that point, a maximum of 2 family members or friends may visit in the room – see protocol above.
You may also call to schedule a Virtual Visit (Zoom, Facetime or similar) if your loved one needs assistance from staff to connect. Virtual Visits are scheduled by calling the Activities Department at 781-997-1123 at least 24 hours in advance. Leave a message requesting a virtual visit. We will connect you with your loved one at a mutually convenient time, using our I-Pad tablets.
We may adjust this protocol as needed for the safety of our residents and staff. We will also adjust per any changes in regulations from the Department of Public Health. If we have a positive COVID test within the building, visitation may be suspended or limited. Questions? Please call 781-997-1100.
